Studies often provide useful information, even if sometimes the answer is "no." Carbon capture has traditionally been taking CO2 from the air, but see this MIT project regarding taking CO2 from sea water https://interestingengineering.com/innovation/remove-carbon-dioxide-from-seawater (not sure where I got wind of this, so if it's from here, apologies for doubling up.)
